On Wednesday, March 30, 2005 the live steam club "Kootenay Live Steamers" met at Howie and Elva Mason's house at 7:00 pm with eight members present and six members absent for their first official meeting.

Items on the agenda where as follows.
  • Kootenay Live Steamers was the name selected for the new club with Howie Mason elected as president for a one year term.

  • Development of a test track at Mason's Trains and a work bee was scheduled for April 3, 2005 at 1:00 pm.

  • Negotiations with Fort Steel to be kept open for the development of a train park on the site.

  • 4-6-4 Hudson #2803 to be serviced and annual hydro test preformed.

  • 4-6-4 Hudson #2803 will be on display at Fort Steel on Fathers Day June 19, 2005 with a section of test track to be installed.

  • Look at the possibility of having the club "Kootenay Live Steamers" registered as a society.

  • Organize the Gas Engine Show for August 19, 20 & 21, 2005 at Fort Steel.
