The 2-6-0 was first built in the 1860's and was based on the 0-6-0 Switcher, but with a swivelling pony truck
that handled uneven track. Competing with the 4-4-0 American locomotive in Canada and the United States, the
2-6-0 cost less and produced more power. Over 11,000 of these popular engines were built!
