In the late 19th century these locomotives were designed to pull passenger trains at speeds up to 100mph! Its pony
and trailing 4-wheel trucks gave it the stability to run fast and long. Baldwin built 4-4-2's for Atlantic Coast Line,
the company for which they were named, and delivered the first model in 1894. Famous Atlantics included the Hiawatha
trains of the Milwaukee Railroad.
